JOB DUTIES:

Manages and supervises assigned staff; plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments; interviews, recommends for hire, trains; motivates support staff, evaluates assigned staff and administers initial states of discipline i.e., verbal; reviews and standardizes work procedures; resolves employee concerns and problems; approves timesheets and requests for leave. Interprets and implements federal, state, and local regulations, policies and procedures as they relate to unit operations; assists in planning, developing and implementing policies and procedures for the unit.

Provides guidance on various computer systems. Interviews applicants or recipients to determine or re-certify their eligibility for benefits. Coordinates and communicates with other unit supervisors, state and federal agencies, community agencies and other agencies develop and coordinate working arrangements. Prepares, writes, updates, and reviews various reports, forms and correspondence including but not limited to policy manuals, alerts, case summaries, hearing reports, verifications, required reports, personnel records and statistics. Conducts staff meetings; attends district and state trainings and workshops; may serve on agency boards or committees; attends collaborative meetings and court hearings. Travel for business meetings is an expectation for this position. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS Performs clerical functions as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of experience in a position processing eligibility involving cases for Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Ohio Works First, and other State and Federal Public Assistance Programs; plus one course or equivalent experience in business mathematics, business English, interviewing techniques, typing, keyboarding, and word processing; plus must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate fractions and decimals; or any equivalent combination of education, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

WORK RECORD AND ATTENDANCE WILL BE EXAMINED IN ADDITION TO ABOVE QUALIFICATIONS. APPLICANT MUST ALSO HAVE HIGH DEGREE OF FLEXIBILITY TO MANAGE CHANGE.
